More about Me

I originally come from Llanfynydd, a small village in the countryside near Carmarthen. I moved to Aber three years ago to study Welsh, and I can say with confidence that it is one of the best decisions I made. Over the past three here in Aber, I have thrown myself into every element of UMCA, leading me to be Vice-President on the UMCA comittee, the president of the Geltaidd comittee and co-ordinator and accompanist on the Aelwyd Pantycelyn committee in my final year. When the opportunity arose to stand in the Undeb’s elections, it was a natural choice for me to stand for Llywydd UMCA.

The chance to learn new things and working hard every day to grow as an individual. I’m very passionate about the Welsh language and having the chance to work in my mother tongue and give others opportunities to do the same drives me.

Playing the piano and singing in a choir, or sometimes a mix of the two by accompanying in a choir. I also live on a farm so I enjoy spending time outside and with the animals when I’m home.

Interesting fact: Back home on the farm, I have succeeded to name every one of the individual cows!

Aberystwyth students will feel heard and represented. We will regularly speak with students to understand the challenges they face, ensuring we have the information needed to bring to the University and to guide the Union’s work.

Welsh Language Modules will be properly advertised, clearly stating how much of a module is done in Welsh.

• Investigate with students the impacts of advertisements.

• Identify where the issues are.

• Work with different Welsh Officers to get them involved.

• Work with college Cymraeg to update the requirements and standardise it across Wales.
