The AberSU Advice Service based in the Students’ Union Building on the Penglais Campus and can help on a range of matters. We provide free advice in a professional but friendly environment with our advisors experienced in dealing with University procedures and processes. We won’t judge you; we are here to help you as much as we can, regardless of your issues.
Because we are independent from the University we are able to represent you without any conflict of interest. All enquiries are dealt with in the strictest confidence, which means that we do not disclose anything that you have told us unless you have given us permission to do so.
The Advice Service is operating as usual via remote means. You can contact the service using the contact the details below. The service will operate video calling consultations via Zoom as required during usual drop-in times of 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm, Monday to Thursday. Please note that when you contact us for advice we will open a confidential case file for you and record your personal information, details of your enquiry and any advice given.
Information collected will be used for statistical purposes only and will not identify you when compiling reports. Your details will be recorded and stored securely in line with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Personal information will not be shared with anyone outside of the service without your authority, with the exception of the auditors for the purpose of achieving the Advice Quality Standard (AQS). In some cases they may audit your case file as part of this process but any personal data reviewed will remain confidential.
If you do not agree that the details of your case can be recorded and stored by the Advice Service or you do not with your file to be made available to AQS for auditing purposes, please let us know.
