Complaints

Welcome to our Students’ Union Code of Conduct, member Disciplinary Policy & Procedure, and Complaints Policy pages. Here you will find essential information on how we ensure a positive and inclusive environment at Undeb Aberystwyth and the part you as a student play in maintaining this community.

We recognise that visiting this section of the website may indicate that something might have gone wrong, you have a worry or concern, or you’re struggling with an issue; we want to make this process as simple as possible for you and easy to understand. In order to do that, we have provided you with information to get you started, but don’t forget, our team are here to support you so do not hesitate to get in contact with us.

At Undeb Aberystwyth, we are committed to ensuring a positive and supportive atmosphere, where every student feels valued and heard. We encourage you to familiarise yourself with these policies to understand your rights and responsibilities. This page contains four key documents:

  • Our Member Code of Conduct sets out the standards of conduct and expected behaviours from all members of the Students’ Union.
  • Our Student Groups Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected from clubs and societies and the process we follow when groups fall short of these expectations.
  • The Member Disciplinary Policy & Procedure provides a transparent framework for managing allegations of misconduct and ensuring that any disciplinary action, where necessary, is applied fairly and consistently.
  • Our Complaints Policy provides a clear framework for raising and resolving any concerns or issues you might encounter.

We understand that using formal policies and procedures can be daunting, especially if you’re under stress, so we have created a simple guide to understanding the complaints policy. Click here to see our easy to use guide on using the complaints procedure

We also recognise that you might have questions about our Code of Conduct and related policies & procedures, so we have put together a list of Frequently asked questions and examples which might help you out.
