Supporting the officer team are a family of SU staff working behind the scenes to ensure Aberystwyth students have the opportunity to love student life and be ready for anything.
We’re delighted to have welcomed three new faces to the AberSU staff team since the beginning of the new academic year.
We caught up with all three to ask a couple of questions to get to know them a little better…
Cleo joins the SU’s Comms & Engagement staff team as Communications coordinator.
Her role includes coordinating the AberSU portfolio of communication: such as social media, the website and more.
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I graduated this summer! I love to travel and see new places, cooking and spending time with friends and family. I also love going walking!
Where is home?
Currently Fairbourne (about an hour from Aber). But I am originally from Swansea.
It’s your last meal on earth…what’s on the menu?
Any form of Chinese food but I also love Mexican food (preferably quesadillas).
Tell us interesting fact about yourself (something people may be surprised to learn):
I went interrailing last year and we passed 5 countries in one day!!
Before working here, have you had much involvement with the students’ union or student groups?
While I was a student in Swansea University, I worked as a Promotions Assistant for the Union (which was great practice for this role).
If you weren’t in your SU role…what would you be?
I would definitely be working within Marketing and Communications as this is what my degree is in and I love it!
What do you love about working in Aberystwyth so far?
The people! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and every day is different.
Why did you join the team here at AberSU?
I was looking for a Marketing role in the Uni environment and this position happened to pop up (which I was so happy about), I also loved how the Union can make such a positive difference for students!
