Welcome to Aber Uni's Eco Education Society! This is the place to learn the facts about the climate crisis, share ideas, fundraise, have fun and find out exactly what we can do to change the world.

Hello and welcome to our corner of the internet! We are the Eco-Education Society, a friendly group of individuals connected by a concern for the environment and the desire to make the world a better place. Although you certainly do not need to be a tree hugger to join our group, it certainly helps! All our members come from a wide range of academic courses, so you definitely don't need to be studying a specific course to join us. All you need is a passion for change and enthusiasm.

When it comes to our aims and objectives, it's all in the name! Our society revolves around the intersectionalities of the climate crisis and what we can do to alleviate it. We do this through weekly talks on subjects ranging from renewable energies and sustainable farming to peaceful protests and veganism! As well as through a range of socials that will also aim to educate in a fun way! These socials will also help mental well-being and help people engage with the climate crisis in entertaining and varied ways. All you need to do is turn up and have fun!

Our members' mental well-being is crucial to us, especially when dealing with sometimes less than positive topics. All members of the committee will always be ready to lend an ear and help. Plus, meetings are relatively informal and always open to interesting discussions. Asking questions is more than encouraged - no question is a stupid one!

Fundraising is an integral aspect of our society. Previous charities have included: the New Haven Project, Amazon Watch and UNICEF. As well as helping one of our own members to be involved with a development project in the Amazon.

It would be a pleasure to meet you and campaign for a better future together. Please get in contact with any questions; we'd be happy to answer any you may have! Remember you are the change that you want to see in the world!
