Choose three words that best describe you:
Curious, Excited, and friendly.
It’s your last meal on earth…what’s on the menu? & which 3 celebrity would you invite for food?
A large cheese pizza with cheesy chips on the side, drink of either Fanta orange or an IPA with a tiramisu or strawberry cheesecake to finish. I say or, I would have a tiramisu and a strawberry cheesecake.
I would sit with Harry Styles, Jeremy McKinnon, and Margaret Atwood.
What are your hobbies or interests?
I love movies and binging tv shows. I love going to the beach and wish I did it more. I love to write stories and I am really interested in political structures and have so many books about them which has massively influenced my writing especially when looking into dystopian fiction.
Why did you choose to stand for this role?
I was on a committee for Tickled Pink and was the environment and sustainability officer last year and I really enjoyed it. I loved working with new people and planning events and campaigns. I started to slowly get to know the Students Union in its basic form and wanted to be a part of it.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
I am looking forward to interacting with students and creating and running campaigns that I think the students will really enjoy.
What are some of the causes you care about?
I care about health in general, whether that is mental health, physical health or sexual health. I believe all these go hand in hand and we need to share the amazing aspects of all of them and inform students what else they can do to improve them.
I am also really passionate about the environment and how individuals and companies can do their part. I am excited to see what great things the university and students’ union are already doing that we can share with students and see what new changes can be made.
What is your favourite Aberystwyth hangout?
I love going to the top of north beach just under constructional hill and having a bonfire with some friends. That or you will catch me down one of the local pubs on a pub quiz night.
If you could be an animal what would you be and why?
I would be an elephant because they are cool and they think humans are cute like we think puppies are cute and that is my favourite thing ever.
Do you have any out there traditions or strange superstitions?
I am pagan and quite a spiritual person, so I have superstitions about everything. An example could be never have two mirrors facing each other and never have a mirror facing you while you sleep. I have a thing about mirrors in general to be honest.
What one thing do you think everyone should do/try at least once in their lifetime?
I think everyone should go to a comic con (or anything in that nature) at least once in their life. I never went until the last year because I didn’t think I would enjoy it because I wasn’t into ‘all that nerdy stuff’. Turns out I am, and it was a really cool day. There is so much to do whether it’s browsing the stalls filled with small businesses or attending talks. I never realised how many famous people go to cons. The first one I went to Matthew Lillard was there and my childhood self was in love, meeting my crush from scream and scooby doo. This was a horror con so there were also activities like haunted houses with cosplayers walking around who looked amazing. I think people think comic cons are just for a select group of people, but I think anyone would love it – that or I am actually a massive nerd haha.
You are on your way to work on a Monday morning…what song comes on as your soundtrack?
Either Arguing with Thermometers by Enter Shikari or Miley Cyrus’s version of Like a Prayer. Both songs fill me with dopamine which is essential for a Monday morning.
Name a favourite place you have visited and why:
There is a small woodland park outside of Aber that I love to go to in the Summer because it is always so quiet that you normally have it to yourself (except the odd dog walker). There are rope swings and weird wooden musical instruments it just a really nice day out. It is quite a walk away but it is a nice one.
