What committee are you part of and what roles have you held?

I am part of Tarannau Cheerleaders and I am currently Vice Captain (including Secretary, Welfare and Social Media) and I was Social Secretary in 21-22.

What made you want to run for a committee role?

I wanted to run for a committee role because I loved how the club had given me fun experiences, new friends, and exciting opportunities, and I had ideas for how I could keep up these qualities of the club for members, to keep the club thriving.

What has been the most enjoyable part of being on committee?

The most enjoyable part about being on committee has been seeing what the committee has worked so hard on turning into real events and experiences for members to enjoy. Whether that is going to competitions, dressing up in crazy outfits for socials, or feeling proud to win Cheerleader of the week.

Do you feel that being on a committee has been beneficial in terms of preparing you for the future?

Being on a committee has definitely prepared me for my future. Firstly because of the leadership skills I've developed; I'm a lot more confident at running events and thinking on my feet. Secondly, I've developed marketing skills through doing social media which led to me getting a part time marketing job, turning into full time when I graduate.

What piece of advice would you give to an incoming committee member?

My main piece of advice to an incoming committee member is to talk to your members lots, and think about what ideas you have that could add something exciting to your club for you and your members to enjoy.
