What Is Wisdom Wellbeing?

Aberystwyth University has partnered with Health Assured to provide Wisdom Wellbeing — a free, confidential, and always-available support service for all our students. You can access help through their services at any time of day, any day of the year, even when the University Wellbeing Service is closed.


What Support Can I Get?

Wisdom Wellbeing offers immediate access to:

  • Qualified counsellors (free & confidential)
  • Support via phone, live chat, video call, WhatsApp or Wisdom AI
  • Welsh-language support, interpreters, and BSL speakers
  • Fitness videos, guided meditations, and recipes
  • Self-help resources and wellbeing tools
  • Money and financial advice
  • And much more

Support is available for any concern, including:

  • Mental or emotional wellbeing
  • Stress or anxiety
  • Relationship or family worries
  • Concerns about yourself or someone else
  • Money or Financial advice
  • Or anything else that’s bothering you

You can speak to someone whenever you need - completely confidentially and without judgement. Help is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Getting started is quick and easy:

1. Download the Wisdom app

2. Enter the unique Aberystwyth University code MHA274262 to register

3. Add your details and select your preferences to tailor the content you would like to see

Once you are set up, you can explore everything the app has to offer.


Support From Someone Who Understands You

Wisdom Wellbeing offers Lived Experience Matching - you can ask to speak with someone who shares or understands your background, including:

  • Faith and spirituality
  • Culture and ethnicity
  • Gender and sexuality
  • Neurodiversity and disability
  • Personal life experience (e.g., care leaver, estranged from family, student life challenges)

Just let them know what matters to you, and they'll do their best to match you with the right person.


How It Fits with Other University Support

Wisdom Wellbeing complements the University’s own Wellbeing Service, which provides:

  • One-at-a-time counselling sessions
  • Signposting to external services (e.g., Area 43 for under-30s)
  • Guidance and support to engage with your GP
  • Accessing local statutory services available to you
