The Community Fund

What is the Community Fund?

The Community Fund allows local charities across Mid-Wales to bid for funds in the form of grants.

Charities will be told how much the maximum grant awarded will be – this is dependent on the amount collected that year through AberSU Raise and Give (RAG).

Grant allocation is decided by a student panel who review and score applications made via the form below.

If you are a local charity in Mid-Wales please see the form below to make an application. For any further information please email mmd11@aber.ac.uk.

Who can apply?

To apply charities must meet the following characteristics:

  • They must be based in Mid-Wales and work for beneficiaries in Mid-Wales.
  • They cannot be politically or religiously affiliated.
  • They cannot be a local branch of a national or international charity.

What is the selection criteria?

This year RAG raised enough money to award multiple grants of up to £300.

Each application will be scored on the following 4 criteria:

  • Need for money
  • Value of work
  • Efficiency and impact of work
  • Commitment to ethical fundraising practices

The selection criteria will be review annually by a student panel to reflect student feedback.
