A.S.S is a society dedicated to uniting students through music and community. We host events to provide a place where students can dance and express themselves freely.
 

 

Shwmae, we are A.S.S, the Aberystwyth Sound System Society. We are a new student group which aims to bring world dance music to the community of Aber! We throw music events to provide a place where students can dance and expresses themselves while indulging in a plethora of different genres of music. We plan to do this by throwing monthly parties in our Student union consisting of these music genres:  Jungle, Garage, DnB, House, Trance, Techno, Bassline, Fidget, 4x4, Dub, Reggae, Soul, Funk, Afrobeat’s, HipHop, RnB, Family Classics, Country, Jazz, Classical and Roar by katy perry ;).

We are dedicated to Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect. These are the four pillars of ASS, and of Sound System Culture in general. This means that our society is designed to be a safe space for everyone, no matter your race, sexuality, gender, or anything else!! Therefore all A.S.Sers are welcomed with open arms regardless of their Sexuality, Race, Gender, Religion and A.S.S Size.

           How We Started

It was a cold and windy day in Aberystwyth and a muddle of music indulgers congregated in the kitchen of PJM 134. Over a game of cards, the desire to unify the student of Aber through the median of music was born.
