Who are We?

Welcome! We are a revitalised society set up to provide an inclusive environment for disabled and neurodiverse students. We intend to establish a friendly community in a relaxed environment to help disabled and neurodiverse students socially, to make friends, share their interests and most importantly - have fun! :)

Our events

We are currently running two types of events: Sober Socials and Info-Dumping. Below is more information about both, more information can be found on the discord.

Sober Socials

Every Friday evening in room 1 or picturehouse in the Student Union (room for the week confirmed on the discord, before the event). Runs 6.00PM to 7.40PM and we will do things such as board games and movie nights.

Info-Dumping

Every Wednesday evening, in the Herman Ethe room (second floor of the Hugh Owen Library). Members will deliver presentation on a wide range of topics, followed potentially by a post presentation Q and A, we will then watch a documentary or have a discussion. Members can be supported with presenting their presentation in a variety of ways. There is a form on the discord you will need to complete should you wish to present.

  • The Disability and Neurodiversity Society is dedicated to the inclusion and acceptance of all members regardless of age, race, ethnicity, ability, culture, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, religious affiliation, socio-economic status and marital status. This is not an exhaustive list, and discrimination of any kind is not tolerated within our society.

  • While we will endeavour to make our space as accessible as possible, the spectrum of needs is vast, and we are only volunteers, so are therefore limited in our ability to make it accessible for absolutely everyone.

  • Our student membership is free of charge and a formal diagnosis is not necessary to join.

Core Documents: (these are the documents of the old society, we are actively working on updating this, in the meantime if you wish to see our core documents please email us at sumailbox57@aber.ac.uk and we will happily send them over to you)
