A society for getting your socks wet. Our society is a brilliant choice for any student in Aberystwyth who has a love for the marine environment and its brilliantly diverse inhabitants.
Our society is perfect for any students in Aber who have a love for the marine environments and its brilliantly diverse inhabitants.
We will be providing the opportunity for members to join on a wide range of activities, from rock-pooling on Aber's brilliant rocky beaches and cliff-walking to spot some of the marine mammals which inhabit Cardigan Bay, to screenings of marine-related films or documentaries such as Blue Planet II.
Socials will normally happen on Tuesdays at 8pm which provide an opportunity for our members to meet new people and to enjoy fun themed nights. Every now and again we will also join other clubs and societies to broaden our friendship groups.
No need to be a Marine & Freshwater Biology student to have fun with us!
On top of this, we will have a number of trips out of Aberystwyth to explore some of the beautiful Welsh coastlines. We hope we'll be able to visit places such as Skomer Island and New Quay during the next academic year (2018-2019).
We will be carrying out beach cleans to help keep Aber's beautiful beaches trash free!
For any members looking to add to their CV, offering help to the academic department to take part in research projects being run by the university, is also an option.
