Hello, I’m Connor. I came to Aberystwyth from Birmingham 6 years ago to study Sport Science. I ran for the Wellbeing Officer role because I am passionate about the welfare and safety of students. My main focus this year will be working towards promoting more awareness campaigns such as mental health awareness day and eating disorder awareness.
Tell us an interesting or random fact about yourself...
I spent my 2020 New Years Eve on the operating table, having my appendix taken out. New year, new me, literally.

A plate of croissants and a black coffee. Sophisticated, I know.
Do you have any hobbies or interests?
I am a bit of a bookworm, but I also like to stay active with yoga, kickboxing and skating. I am very interested in spirituality and I absolutely love buying more and more plants!
Why did you choose to stand for this role?
I chose to stand for the role of Wellbeing Officer as I am very passionate towards the subject of mental health within universities, as it can be a tough and challenging time for anyone. By raising awareness through the use of campaigns and setting up regular events I aim to increase the connectedness with students so that their voices are heard.
What are you looking forward to this year?
I am really looking forward to collaborating with the other officers on board to set up events that will be actively engaging with students.
What are some causes you care about?
As I have mentioned previously I care about the mental health within universities, but I am also passionate about the environment as I aim to see more environmentally friendly actions, changes on campus and supported development of the Aberystwyth community which should bring people together and leave no-one behind.
What is your favourite Aberystwyth hangout?
Can I say all of Aberystwyth… no doubt you’ll see me out and about skating anywhere around Aber!
If you were a superhero, what powers would you have?
Supersonic hearing as I am deaf in one ear haha.
Name a favourite place you have visited and why.
Edinburgh: I really wasn’t expecting much, but when I got there I was completely taken away by the history and the beauty of the city centre.
