This is something I never thought I would have to write. A goodbye to the SU, a goodbye to the University, a goodbye to six years of my life, and a goodbye to you. This role has allowed me to take my university experience and use it to make others’ lives better, and every day has been a whirlwind.
When I look back at my time as an officer, I feel so proud, honoured, and emotional. Finding the job you want to do forever isn’t something you do every day, and unfortunately for me, I can’t stay. But it’s not just been a job, it’s been a chapter I’ll carry with me always. It’s been a privilege to be a part of your stories, and for you to be part of mine.
If I had to pick a highlight, it would be Tiff Tries. I have been able to meet so many people and try so many different things that, as a student, I was too scared to do. The friendships I have forged throughout my time here are so important to me, and I will never forget any of you. I can’t decide which quote to end on, so here are two:
“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” - Winnie the Pooh
“You have been my friends. That in itself is a tremendous thing.” - Charlotte’s Web
