Hey guys!

We both recently found out about a new programme offered from Student Minds, the UK's student mental health charity. The programme is called Student Space which is an online collaborative platform which was launched on Monday 10th August. It’s a new space to help and support students through the corona pandemic – www.studentspace.org.uk.

Student Space offers a range of interventions which include immediate and preventative measures from peer support to clinically developed psychoeducational resources.

Student Space also has access to a dedicated freephone number where you can receive listening support, information and signposting from 4pm to 11pm. There is also free 24/7 text support available, where they provide support which will meet a broad range of student needs.

In relation to the diverse needs of the student community, Student Space aims to collaborate with specialist organizations, especially those representing various liberation groups (e.g. LGBTQ+ students, BAME students, Disabled students). Also specific issues regarding domestic violence and bereavement, as well as various areas of mental health support in relation to eating disorders, psychosis etc.

Remember we also have our advice service available at the Union. If you are suffering and need support then please reach out, the Samaritans are a great number to call in times of need.

Hope everyone is doing well, and remember to take some wellbeing time for yourself!

Love, Connor and Nate
