If you’re unsure how to spell my name, you’re not the only one – honest. Just call me Woj.
Being brought up in Warsaw (Poland) I came to Aber three years ago to study Film and TV. As many students in Aberystwyth I made peace with leaving my family and friends behind and embraced the challenge of living far away from home.
During my Fresher’s Fair I realised that there is more to Uni than just academics and shortly became a member of AU Kickboxing Club. My aim back then was to get healthier, try new discipline, have some fun and meet new people.
Being a part of AUKB made me the person I am today, I met tons of great people, challenged myself as AUKB President and grew through the times of struggle and grind.
My experience in AUKB as well as AU Surf Club was the best part of Uni and that’s why I decided to run for Opportunities role. My goal is to make every student’s life better by providing them with societies and clubs, in which they will feel well, have fun and make lifelong friends.
What would be your top 3 tips for any new students starting at Aberystwyth in September?
1. Try as many societies and clubs as you can – you never know what you might fall in love with.
2. Watch out for seagulls when coming out of Arts Centre, library or the SU – they are watching.
3. Be nice to all students and locals (especially bouncers and taxi drivers) – you never know when they might save your night.
What are some causes you care about?
Students' satisfaction from the Aber experience is the most important; and there is more to it than just studies.
I want students to feel happy, stay healthy, enjoy their time here and have opportunities to pursue their personal goals and hobbies. And most importantly, to find their own friends for life.
If you could change one thing at Aberystwyth University, what would it be?
I would make Uni pet friendly and get myself a dog; but only if I could take it to classes.

What is your favourite meal?
Deffo sushi.
Do you have any hobbies or interests?
I watch movies for life, exercise and write a lot. Also like snowboarding and longboards. Oh and I really love to dance.
What is your favourite Aberystwyth hangout?
Very recent discovery – back of the Arts Centre. You can eat in peace because seagulls are not hunting there and you get to enjoy happy hour pints – priceless.
Name a favourite place you have visited and why.
Neuschwanstein castle in Germany. I wouldn’t mind having a house like that one day.
If you were a superhero, what powers would you have?
“Napman”
I would never feel fatigue and sleepiness, only If I wanted to. This way I would have way more time for parties and other stuff, and of course I could enjoy a nap whenever I feel like it.
