Short introduction…
Hello, I’m Tanaka. While wellbeing is a broad area, it impacts students’ day-to-day lives including their engagement with union activities, academics and social life. This year I am hoping to make any contribution I can to improve students’ experience with wellbeing and support in the university.

I accidentally auditioned for a French-speaking play for Drama students.

What are your hobbies or interests?
I write poems, stories, songs and create comedic TikToks.
Why did you choose to stand for this role?
Wellbeing is a core part of many students’ day-to-day experiences, and I thought it would be a great way to signpost students to the additional support that might make Aber a home away from home.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
Making a tangible change that will benefit others even years from now.
What are some of the causes you care about?
Supporting international students and creating spaces where underrepresented students can feel more at home.
What is your favourite Aberystwyth hangout?
The Promenade
If you could be an animal what would you be and why?
An eagle, because it can observe the world from a bird’s eye view.
Do you have any out there traditions or strange superstitions?
I used to prank my family and friends every April Fool’s with some sort of ‘big news’.
What’s your unpopular opinion?
Nutella is not the real deal.
What one thing do you think everyone should do/try at least once in their lifetime?
Travelling to a different part of the world. It can really shape or challenge your perspective on learned beliefs and convictions.

Name a favourite place you have visited and why.
A few years ago, I visited Assisi, a small town in Italy and it honestly has one of the cutest, calmest and most warmest sceneries I’ve ever seen.
