My name is Nanw and I’m originally from Mold. I’ve just finished studying Welsh in Aberystwyth and I’m looking forward to a busy year as UMCA President!

I’ve published a poem in a book.

It’s your last meal on earth…what’s on the menu? & which 3 celebrities would you invite for food?
Lasagna with chips and garlic bread with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Lewis Capaldi and Mererid Hopwood.
What are your hobbies or interests?
I enjoy going out with friends, spending time with family, writing and travelling.
Why did you choose to stand for this role?
UMCA has enabled me to have three incredible years in Aber and that being completely in Welsh - it’s important to me that we protect this right.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
The intercollege Eisteddfod - my favourite event in the calendar.
What are some of the causes you care about?
- Ensure a safe and bright future for UMCA.
- Protect the right to higher education in Welsh here in Aber by campaigned for a wide provision of Welsh language modules.
- Sharing Welsh culture and the amazing work that UMCA does with the wider Undeb Aber community.
What is your favourite Aberystwyth hangout?
The pier with a chippy and a pint under an Aber sunset.
Do you have any out there traditions or strange superstitions?
I never leave the volume’s number on an odd number.
What’s your unpopular opinion?
I love pineapple on pizza!
What one thing do you think everyone should do/try at least once in their lifetime?
Go to a Wales football match in Cardiff City Stadium.
