Last week, staff, students and Officers of the Students’ Union got involved to help raise money for the annual Children in Need event.
On Sunday 10th November, six mixed teams of students entered a Touch Rugby tournament, with referees and equipment kindly provided by the Rugby League Club. The winner team (pictured to the right) was a combination of Tarannau Cheerleaders and Rugby League players, under the name of ‘Dream Team/7UP 3.0’
On the eve of the national fundraiser, staff and Officers of the Union got involved in a massive 118-mile row, from Aberystwyth to Cardiff, using a rowing machine provided by the Sports Centre. After a massive day of rowing from all involved (including some late-evening help from the Community of Gamers and our bar staff), we finally reached the distance to Cardiff by 1am.
In total, £400 was raised for Children in Need. A massive thank you goes out to everyone who took part, and to Activities Officer, Liv Prewett, who organised the activities.
