Candle Vigil for TDoR

A great first semester has been had with thanks to everyone who is a part of the AberBalch/AberPride society.

Why you ask?

- We raised awareness and provided information via social media on Intersex Solidarity Day, an internationally observed civil awareness day designed to highlight issues faced by intersex people

- We came together as one and showed support on TDoR (Transgender Day of Remembrance), a candle vigil was held at South Beach and we remembered those in the Trans* community who had lost their lives due to transphobic hate crime

- World AIDs Day, December 1st, a Massive £100+ was raised for the awesome Terrence Higgins Trust thank to your donations, purchases of Red Ribbons and for entering our THT quiz night!

- Our first SCENE event of the year saw a fantastic 40+ people turn up to get festive and merry in the SU Main Room.  All money raised this night went straight back into the society which means we can throw more events for our members!

- Our christmas movie mini marathon saw a good turnout of our members get into the christmas spirit and get snug with friends watching some of the holiday classics!

- AberPride Christmas Meal - a select few of  you joined the committee for a night of fancy dining and laughs up Constitution Hill for the end of semester one/xmas meal!

- A massive turnout each week for our Thursday Socials has been fantastic!  The more the merrier, and you guys and girls really know how to have fun!

Without you, our members,  AberPride wouldn't be where it is today - so please, bring your friends, spread the word and continue being awesome and giving this society the love it deserves!
