- Description -
Meet outside Pier at 09:00. We'll head along the seafront before starting the trail proper, which starts with the steep hill at the south end of Tan y Blwch.
The trail is a lovely, clearly marked walk which, after the hill, is largely flat or downhill- it's a section of the Wales Coastal path. There's a beach roughly halfway through, near a holiday park, which will be perfect for lunch- or if we do not wish from the deviated path, there's a table in the shade directly on the route.
The walk is 17.2km, with about 450m of ascent- the majority of which is directly at the beginning.
The T1 runs every hour, and there's a T5 every two hours- there's a pub and café in town to kill time at. It's about a 30 minute bus back to Aberystwyth.

- Meetings, Timings, and Transport -
We will be walking directly from Aberystwyth, then returning by bus. We'll meet outside Pier at 09:00, and set off by 09:10. Assuming we move at roughly our average pace, we should make Llanrhystud for 15:00. However, as it is set to be both hot (20C) and sunny, we might end up taking a little more time than is standard. The 16:39 bus is the one we will be aiming for.

- Equipment -
- walking boots*, or sensible walking shoes
- At least 2 layers of clothing for your torso
-no jeans/denim trousers allowed
- Sun protection (sun hat, sunglasses, sun cream)
- A suitable bag to carry everything
- At least 3l of water
- lunch and/or snacks
- Medication (if needed)

It is set to be 20C at the hottest part of the day. As a reminder- once you feel dehydrated in that weather, it is already too late and you will already have heatstroke.

*If you want to check the suitability of your footwear, or borrow equipment (e.g. waterproof trousers), please email us on hikingclub@aber.ac.uk . Please contact us at least 24 hours before the event
