Astrid Investigates - A Flying Bridge Theatre audio drama

Crime, corruption and a little sleuth-seduction abound in this brand-new series of online plays for voices...

Part Bond, part Marple, with a squirt of Poirot and Spade on top, Private Investigator Astrid Price is on a foe-foiling mission from her bed-sit above a chippy in Newport.

Prying her way through the mean streets of an Independent Republic of Cymru (I.R.C) in the not too distant future, the art of espionage between Old England and the newly-formed I.R.C alive and drop-kicking - this former Welsh rugby captain tackles any case that comes her way and she is the surest shepherd to a court room in the whole Republic.

But can she find King Arthur’s Crown to halt a huge diplomatic war? Is the fading Welsh Hollywood-actress Mona Gladys really the darling we think she is? Will the Backstabbers Theatre Company production be a case of ‘Alls Well That Ends Well’ or is it art imitating life? And what did become of Stella’s cat?

Streamed weekly online by Flying Bridge Online Repertory Company, this series of plays for voices will be performed remotely by a company of actors from across Wales. Astrid Investigates will feature 7 plays beginning with King Arthur’s Crown on Thursday 17 September at 7.30pm and finishing with That Last Pint on Thursday 29 October.
