It’s the Elections but perhaps not as you may be used to this year as we include Academic Rep elections for the first time. With over 173 Academic Rep positions available alone we’ve worked hard over the summer with Departments to create a single standing and voting process for Academic Representatives going forward.
But these aren’t the only positions available with key Part-time Officer and Institute Rep roles available to stand for. We’re also looking for students to stand for National Union of Students’ Delegate roles where you can be the voice of Aberystwyth University students by attending national conferences held March through to May next year.
Last but not least we are also looking for one undergraduate student and postgraduate student to join our Trustee Board which ensures the Union is well run, meeting its aims and working within legal and constitutional rules set out in its governing document.
There has never been a better time to shape the future of the Union and the University. We have started a new plan for the years ahead; looking at everything we do as well as how we do it. In the weeks, ahead while you’ll see plenty of emphasis on Academic Rep roles and Part-time Officer roles, make sure you still check out the others available.
To stand in the election visit www.abersu.co.uk/elections and complete one of either two online forms depending if you are standing for an Academic Rep role or one of the other roles that are available by 4pm Monday 9th October. If you just want to vote, you can do so via ApAber or the by using the link that will be emailed to you between Wednesday 18th October and Sunday 22nd October.
If you want more advice or have any questions, contact us on union.elections@aber.ac.uk.
It’s your university so shape its future as your voice matters!
