Debating Society - Taster Debate Session

Debating Society welcomes everyone who wants to practice their public speaking skills and logic to join us for a taster debate session on Thursday 5th February at 7pm in C4 Hugh Owen. We debate in the British Parliamentary Style, which we will explain so please do not feel discouraged from coming along if you have never debated before, our committee is here to support you. Even if you just want to come along to watch how our debates work, we're happy to have you! Debating is an amazing opportunity to really boost your confidence speaking and presenting arguments which are valuable life skills we support in a safe and friendly environment. After the debate is finished, we will walk into town together for a drink and social. We recommend you bring a pen and paper to debate to help with preparation, our debate motions are designed so that a wide range of people can engage with them without needing any specialist knowledge so all you need to do is come along and give it a go!
