What is Activities Week?

Can’t wait until Freshers' week? Want to get involved as soon as possible? Interested in the clubs that you can join at Aberystwyth? Then Activities Week is for you! Our annual 4 day event gives you the chance to try out the massive range of sports and societies on offer at Aberystwyth: four days of sports, societies and socialising!

Taking place from the 18th – 22nd of September, Activities Week offers early access to your accommodation, two meals a day (we don’t want you to starve!) and a massive range of activities to try out, as well as evening events to help you get to know the town that will be your home for the next 3 years! So whether you’re a sporting fanatic, have an interest in a particular society, or just want to try new things and meet new people, Activities Week makes the transition to university life that bit easier. Kick off Freshers' Fortnight already having a group of friends and already knowing where to buy the best fish and chips or pint!

Activities Week is run by the Activities Office/Team Aber of the Students’ Union and is open to all incoming students. The annual four-day event will give you the chance to try out the massive range of Activities we offer in Aber – the emphasis is always on fun. We give you a comprehensive day-by-day programme of morning and afternoon events, you simply slot into the sport or society you fancy having a go at. Sessions are continually running so you do what you like, whenever you like!

Whilst the week is an introduction to the clubs and societies that may become part of your university life, we also provide a series of social events including the introductory buffet, pub quizzes, party games, movies and pub-crawls to ensure the nights are as fun filled as the days.

Aberystwyth’s location offers practically every sport and society imaginable! Get involved; we can guarantee it will be awesome!
