1.      Why do you do sport?

Playing sport clears my mind and it’s such a big stress reliever.  I love the community sport creates and how easy it is to meet new people.

2.      What sport do you do?

Presently Cheerleading, but I would love to get more involved as I love to play netball and would like to try rugby as I’ve only played in 7’s tournaments.

3.      What challenges have you faced, being a girl, within sport?

My earliest memory of playing sport in primary school was not having the opportunity to play in different sports but boys did.  Take rugby for example I never had the chance to even throw a different ball except netball.  A pet peeve of mine is people stereotyping sports traditionally only played by women.  This Girl Can is all about killing that stereotype and making sure women are comfortable playing any sport no matter how red in the face or what you wear.

4.      What have you achieved in sports? Gained qualification?

Competing at level 2 and 3 in Cheerleading was an amazing experience, after being on committee for year I then was elected as captain and gained many skills.  Being part of one sports club also lead to taking part in other sports like netball 7’s and rugby 7’s.

5.      What do you have to say to girls in Aber who want to try sport, but are too scared?

Everyone has their first time in the gym or trying a new sport! Do not hesitate get stuck in! It’s the best and easiest way to meet new people and make new friends it made my university experience and could not imagine studying without being part of Team Aber.
