Aberystwyth Art Society! 

 

Who we are:

The art society is a pretty small society that offers a chill place for creative people to meet and chat to other artistic students and graduates, and explore your creative interests through events such as our indoor and outdoor workshops and trips. We are a very welcoming group as we are pretty small, but also we are pretty close and comfotable with each other :)

       Come for a good time, come to relax, or come to build up your portfolio.

 

What we do:

As a creative group of individuals, we like to introduce our members to many different creative practices. We encourage everyone to engage in their creative skills and to have fun while sometimes getting a little messy! Our recent years have seen limited interactions due to Covid so this year we are so happy to be planning more interactive inperson activities for people to join! Last year we were involved in Freshers Fair, Arts Fest and Varsity. We created a digital art dancing exhibition, art competitions and collaborative pieces.

We host many creative activities during the year! We have many exciting plans for the next year, such as acrylic painting workshops, fabric painting, trips to art exhibitions and so much more! Our workshops and art activities happen weekly, usually on Saturday. 

Art soc also has many social activities. We host drinking and sober socials, along with quiz nights and more fun stuff! Socials are hosted each Wednesday, with details about the social posted beforehand on our social media platforms and email.

Society Documents

Members are entitled to have access to core documents that govern the society, by joining the society you are accepting that you will do your utmost to abide by that which is set down in the below documents much of it is common sense as regards to standard of behaviour etc., you are not expected to have read them just to be aware that they exist and that you are governed by them. We are reqired to made them available here for you to read to allow transparency, in response to new regulations put in by AberSU in 2018.

Constitiution-2022

The Art Society's Governing document, unlike the other documents all major changes to this must be put forward at AGM.

Code-of-conduct-2022

A list of rules and regulations based from that which is provided by Aberystwyth Students Union that members are expected to abide by. 

Risk-Assessment-2022

An assessment of risks posed to members or property though society activities and how the committee will ensure the risk is curtailed.

List of equipment in our possession, subject to ubdates.
